How to find a lost Motorola phone
Use Google Find Hub, Google Find Hub where supported, carrier help, device identifiers, and SafeMyPhone safely after a Motorola phone is lost.
Updated July 24, 2026Motorola recovery service and account
Google Find Hub
The Motorola phone must be signed in to a Google account with Find Hub available; a Motorola/Lenovo account is not normally the remote-recovery control.
Open the official Google Find Hub service
Settings to prepare on the phone
Settings > Security & privacy > Device finders > Find HubSettings > Google > All services > Find HubSettings > Apps > Special app access > Battery optimization
- Enable location and Find Hub.
- Set a screen lock and review Google offline finding.
Use Google Find Hub on Motorola
Go to Google Find Hub on a trusted device and sign in with the Google account already connected to the missing phone. Select the correct device. Available actions can include Play sound, Mark as lost, and Factory reset. Google requires appropriate prior account, device visibility, finding settings, power, and connectivity; an available location can be approximate or old.
Supported functionality
- Find Hub is the primary recovery service on most Motorola Android phones.
- SafeMyPhone generally works when Android permissions and background access remain enabled.
Remote lock and erase instructions
Lock the phone
Select the Motorola device in Find Hub and use Mark as lost to lock it and show an alternate contact.
Erase only after considering the tradeoff
Factory reset through Find Hub permanently deletes accessible local data and normally ends later Find Hub location.
Offline limitations and important restrictions
Last-known or network-assisted results may exist, but an offline command cannot be assumed to execute until connectivity returns.
- My UX and Android version change exact menu placement.
- Carrier-branded models may alter settings.
- Some low-memory devices restrict background work more aggressively.
SIM, carrier, and IMEI actions
Call the carrier through a verified number to suspend or replace the SIM when account codes or unauthorized use are at risk. Ask for a case reference and device-blocking options.
Where to find the IMEI
Find the Motorola IMEI on the original box, receipt, carrier portal, or the device details/settings area of the official finding service when offered. Keep it private and provide it to the carrier or authorities.
SafeMyPhone compatibility on Motorola
SafeMyPhone can run on supported Motorola Android phones only when it was installed and configured before loss, with required permissions, background operation, and connectivity. Manufacturer power controls may delay or stop alerts.
SafeMyPhone does not replace Google or manufacturer recovery services and cannot retroactively configure a missing phone.
Motorola troubleshooting
- Search Settings for Find Hub if the menu path differs.
- Exclude SafeMyPhone from battery optimization only when the user accepts the battery tradeoff.
Privacy and personal safety
Use only official account portals on a trusted device. Never publish a recovery key, live location, IMEI, verification code, or lock-screen PIN. Do not confront a suspected thief.
