Android SIM protection

SIM change alerts with location and recovery evidence

If someone removes your SIM or inserts a new one, SafeMyPhone can create a recovery alert with the details Android allows normal apps to read.

Location

Map-ready coordinates

Capture the latest GPS or network location, accuracy, timestamp, and a Google Maps link when a SIM change is detected.

SIM

Allowed SIM details

Record carrier name, country ISO, SIM slot, subscription ID, MCC/MNC where available, and a local fingerprint for change detection.

Evidence

Photos and device status

Save camera evidence when Android allows it, plus battery, charging, network status, device model, Android version, and owner recovery key.

How it works

  1. 1. Save a trusted baseline.
After setup, SafeMyPhone stores a local fingerprint of the active SIM subscription set.
  2. 2. Watch for SIM/subscription changes.
Android broadcasts SIM state changes, boot events, and carrier identity updates when the device allows them.
  3. 3. Capture and sync evidence.
If the new SIM differs from the baseline, the app saves an alert locally and uploads it when internet is available.

Important Android limit

Modern Android protects raw SIM identifiers such as ICCID and IMSI from normal apps. SafeMyPhone uses permission-based, owner-consent details and a local fingerprint instead of collecting protected identifiers.
