What to do as soon as you notice the loss

Call the phone and retrace your recent movements first. Next, use Google Find My Device to ring, locate, or secure the Android phone. Review any SafeMyPhone alerts already delivered to your email, but remember that location readings can be delayed or imprecise. Do not travel to an unfamiliar location to recover a suspected stolen device by yourself.

If recovery is unlikely, contact your carrier to protect the SIM, change passwords for important accounts, and preserve screenshots or alert details for a police report.
